Sets worth crores of rupees were damaged and many shootings were cancelled. Moreover, theatres at Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Kollam, and Azhapuzha have cancelled the night shows.
Mammootty’s Pazhassi Raja is the badly affected film, as the floods washed away a palace set erected at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh. Kalabavan Mani’s film Swarnam had to be stopped when sets worth Rs. 7 lakhs was washed away near the Athirapalli waterfalls. Twenty-Twenty, a venture by Kerala Film Actors’ Association that stars Mammootty and Mohanlal along with a host of other stars, Jayasurya’s Shakespeare M.A., Malayalam and Prithviraj’s One Way Ticket are some of the other films that has been affected.
