Going by the intense roles Padmapriya has been essaying in Thavamai Thavamirundhu, Sathum Podaaythay and Mirugam, the Tamil movie industry seems to have wrongly typecast her as primarily a character actor than a glamorous star. “This is entirely the wrong picture,” the actress told a newspaper recently, reacting to such inappropriate typecasting. “Already in two forthcoming movies my role is glamorous, vibrant, sexy and colourful”, she added. She’s going to be a really happening heroine in Arjun’s Dhurai and there’s a Hindi film with Siddharth where she plays a bar dancer.

Glamour and sex appeal, feels this tall, talented, striking looking actress, there are beautiful things in a woman but only if presented modestly and tastefully. There are several projects in Malayalam where she plays both, character-oriented and glamorous roles. So let’s not be too hasty and peg her down as only a serious actress but be open to her fabulous potential as poster girl.
