You took a major decision in your life some time back. Now tell us about your life, postmarriage.
Yes, I took a very important step in life and I’m very, very glad about it. I feel blessed, I think it’s wonderful to be married to your best friend. There is immense love and respect. I have the most wonderful father-in-law and mother-in-law, who treat me like their daughter.

And what kind of a husband is Abhishek?
Arre, if I start on that, we’ll have to get onto an autobiography… In short, I’m in a happy place.

Now, will you be doing more films with Abhishek?
It’s a good thing if we get to work together. Time is precious, and we, actors, always have hectic schedules. Abhishek and I have done many films together in the past, and he has been a wonderful co-star. As a colleague, it was always fun to work with him. It will be great to work with my husband, as we will get to spend more time with each other.

There were many controversies surrounding the Bachchans these days. Probably many people from the industry wanted to get invited to the wedding, but weren’t….
We regard our wedding as a very personal experience. The truth is that dadima (Teji Bachchan) is in the hospital. Given the circumstances, obviously, we didn’t want an ostentatious wedding. Amitji had very clearly said this, and we, as children, support and respect him for that. Even the relatives invited were limited. But, we know that we have the good wishes of the people and we are thankful for it. As far as misunderstandings are concerned, it is really unfortunate that too many assumptions were made, there were many false rumours and lose talk. Perhaps we will feel the need to clarify some things some time. For instance, I’m married to Abhishek, not to a tree.

Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 2 will be the first film in which we’ll see you, Amitabh and Abhishek together for the first time. There is already a lot of curiosity surrounding the film.
As a viewer, I enjoyed Sarkar. Ramu’s films are real, there’s a lot of detailing in them. He always attempts, explores and experiments different things and is never worried whether it will work at the box-office or not. I’ve always wanted to work with him. Now I am getting this opportunity with Sarkar 2, and I’m really excited.

Is there any strategy that you will now follow?
Right now, I am going with the flow, so my strategy remains the same, there is no change postmarriage. In future, obviously, there will be children, and then, I will plan my time accordingly. I will continue working.

Censor board Vs mirugam

Mirugam, the film which was in the thick of controversy after its director Samy slapped the heroine, seems to be ridden with some kind of problems. Though the release date has been announced, its producer has a different complaint to feel bogged down. To depict the hero as a brave person, a jallikattu sequence was shot but unfortunately, Samy the Animal Welfare Board in Thiruvanmiyur had urged the Censor Board to remove this scene and heeding to them, the film unit had also deleted the scene. But regrettably, the character of the hero appears like a sexual pervert now without this particular scene which totally distorts the storyline.

Hence to request the censor authorities to include the scene, producer Karthik Jai along with hero Adhi have planned to protest in a novel way. They would be marching from central station in just a loin cloth along with jallikattu cows to the animal welfare board. Karthik Jai also added that the Producer Council has agreed to extend their support to them in this issue.

Rajinikanth race with king khan

The highest-paid-actor record that Rajinikanth has been holding till now has been snatched away by Shahrukh Khan. Eros has bought his home production’s Om Shakthi Om, directed by Farah Khan, for a whopping Rs. 75 crores. The music rights of this movie have been snatched away by the T-series for an astounding Rs. 8 crores. With Om Shakthi Om, having been made at a budget of Rs. 25 crores, Shahrukh has pocketed a mind boggling Rs. 58 crores even before the release of the film. Close to his heels is Rajini who has got over Rs. 15 crores and a share from the international release for Sivaji. However, with Sivaji yet to be released in Rajini’s stronghold area – Japan.Finally result says rajini is a ever green super star winning the race by getting Rs 62 crores.Thanks to people of japan .

Kamals Dhasavadharam

Kamal Haasan is one of the biggest and maybe the best actor in India. He has fans all over the world and his Orkut community has more than 40000 members. In an effort to increase Kamal's popularity these fans held a meeting in Bangalore wherein it was decided to design Dasavatharam T-shirts and distribute it free of cost to all poor Kamal Haasan fans. The T-shirts will be sold at Rs. 200 and those who can afford can buy it. The money realized through this T-shirt sale will be used for organizing eye and blood donation camps to be held when Dasavatharam is released.

Sivaji girl Shriya is on cloud nine these days. And the lady has every reason to be. Evano oruvan an awareness

Evano Oruvan directed by Nishikant Kamat and produced by Madhavan for Leucas films has set off some kind of awakening among people. A debate was organized by producers Pyramid Saimira along with Sun TV in Kamaraj memorial hall recently. The topic of debate was "Is it an individual's anger or the society's anger which had triggered Evano Oruvan".

The two teams analyzed the reasons very exhaustively and the judge for the debate Sathyaraj rendered a very interesting verdict. He said, "It is an encouraging sign that a film has been discussed in such a detailed manner. Maddy has given a performance equal to that of Marlon Brando. It is more important here to say that the film has won rather than to say which team has won in this debate. The actors have won and the director and the producers have won here. This is the right verdict."

Director cum actor Seeman and Maddy also spoke on the occasion. When Maddy spoke he said, "Initially I was skeptical about taking a film sans action and song sequences. But looking at the support and encouragement that we have been getting from all the quarters, we are motivated further to deliver movies of the genre of Evano Oruvan".

Rajini lends with hand for lawrence

It is a known fact in the industry that super star is an ardent devotee of Saint Raghavendra and his marriage hall in Kodambakkam is named after the famous saint. Dance master cum director Lawrence Raghavendra also shares the same sentiment when it comes to worshipping this saint and Rajinikanth he is currently involved in the building of a temple for Raghavendra in Saraswathi Nagar at Ambattur.

Construction of the temple is nearly complete and Lawrence has invited super star to take part in consecration function of the temple. Readers may recall that it was super star who helped Lawrence to get into the dancer's association by giving him a recommendation letter and the duo share a very good relationship. It has been understood that Rajinikanth also has agreed to participate in the function but the date is yet to be finalized.

Bhoomika new plans

Bhoomika, the Sillunnu Oru Kadhal star was in the news some time back when she got married to Yoga Guru Bharath Thakur. Shining in the marital bliss, the pretty actress has resumed acting in Tollywood and has completed a thriller titled Anusuya which would hit the screens on the 21 st. It is indeed a welcome sign that Bhoomika acting is also being considered as just another profession where women get back after marriage.

The day is not too far off when questions to women about continuing to act in films after marriage will become obsolete. As far as Bhoomika is concerned, the lady seems to be a multifaceted personality as she has plans to release a book of poems written by her in the New Year. Speaking to the media, she says, "I have written seventy pomes till now. But I am planning to publish only fifty of them. I have given the job of editing my verses to Javed Akthar." To a question on whether she would write songs to films, she replied in negative and said that writing poetry for films is altogether a different ball game.

After the revolution brought about by directors like Bharathi Raja, Balachander, Balu Mahendra and Mahendran in the 70’s entered this maverick director. His contribution to cinema hasn’t stopped with his works alone but has extended to the introduction of new artistes and technicians and also the enlightenment of existing ones.No dought he is a mile stone in indian cinema.
