Saroja creates traffic jam

The expectations that surround Saroja just got bigger with the its director Venkat Prabhu disclosing that he has created sets for a traffic jam costing about Rs. 50 lakhs near Maduravoyal in Chennai. Speaking about his project, he said that this scene that featured about 100 buses, 200 lorries, jeeps, container tankers, vans etc., was shot for one-week after obtaining permission from the government.

The story is about an unusual incident that unfolds on one eventful day in the lives of four youth played by SPB Charan, Premji, Siva and Vaibhav. Disclosing more about Saroja, Venkat said that a tanker lorry is the main character in the film. Moreover, the film has three stories, which happen in three different cities, all interwoven together. And this traffic jam becomes the meeting point. The happenings in the three cities will be filmed using three distinct colors. Saroja will be a technically challenging film, says its director.

Wondering who would be Saroja? This name has been quite famous once it was added with starting lines from one of the fast beat songs from Chennai 600028. (Saroja Samanikalo). And now Venkat Prabhu has it all his next film’s title. Recently Vijay TV has hosted an exclusive show on making of this film, titled ‘Saroja Yaar??’

Yup! this has raised a great length of curiosity among us all on who would be Saroja in this film or it something else?? The film Directed by Venkat Prabhu features SP Charan, Shiva, Premji, Prakash Raj, Jayaraman and many others in lead roles.

Saroja saman nikalo

Chennai 600028, director Venkat Prabhu launched his next project, Saroja for producer T. Siva’s Amma Creations amidst fanfare on December 5 at Sesh Mahal, Green Park Hotel, Chennai. Among those who wished the ace producer and the upcoming director are K. Balachander, Manirathnam, S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, Rama Narayanan, President Tamil Producers’ Council and P. Swaminathan, MD, Pyramid Saimira group.

The film stars Prakash Raj, Jayaram, SPB Charan, Premji, Siva, Sampath, Vaibhav and debut heroine Vega, a theatre actor and model from Mumbai. “The movie is unique in the sense, three different stories are blended into one,” said the director. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music and Shakthi Saravanan cranks the camera. The regular shoot commenced from December 7 and the film is slated for a summer release

Shankers envy

It was the audio launch of saroja.Director Shankar, while speaking at the function, said that when he first watched Venkat Prabhu’s Chennai-600028 he felt envious of the fact that he couldn’t produce that movie. In fact, he went on to say that he felt so every time he sees good cinema and wants to be associated with it in every possible way. Shankar added that it is the reason behind floating his own production house. Madhavan, who spoke at the event, recalled that when he first saw the promos he opined to Venkat that it wouldn’t do well at the box office but its success proved how little he knew about cinema, contrary to what he had earlier believed. Mani Ratnam, also present at the function, shared the view that it is very difficult to predict the commercial success of a movie. When you hear that from somebody of his caliber you know how true it is.
