Simbhu join hands with dhanush

Director Vetrimaran shot to limelight with his debut venture Polladhavan with Dhanush as hero. This film earned both the director and his crew members good acclaim. Subsequent to this he was said to be involved in many projects. However confirmed sources reveal that the successful team of Vetrimaran and Dhanush will once again come together with Shriya as heroine but after the latter completes Padikadhavan and a film for Gemini Film circuit. Meanwhile Silambarasan also is said to be working under the direction of Vetri but only after the director completes Dhanush’s film. When the director was contacted, he said that he will certainly be working with Silambarasan but this will happen only after a couple of projects. Discussions are on and the rest of the cast will be finalized soon.

Vel fights with polladhavan

Call it a case of great minds thinking alike or just a coincidence, Vetrimaaran has had to sacrifice his creative title for his next flick since it has been earlier taken and registered by Hari in the Nadigar Sangam. The title in contention that evaded Vetrimaaran is Seval. Hari, for his next movie with Bharat in the lead, had already registered the title with Nadigar Sangam leaving Vetrimaaran searching for other options for his next.

Rajini leads the way

Kollywood these days seems to be the bastion of remakes and remixes. Adding to this recent trend, the usage of titles of old films have come in vogue with a number of old film titles being registered at the producer’s council. Further to Polladhavan and Namnadu, and Selva’s Aayirathil Oruvan, there is a bevy of new films

Mullum Malarum, Saval, Pallandu Vazhga, Thee, Thillu Mullu, Kaali, Idayakani, etc. An interesting observation is that most of the titles have been either M G R’s or super star’s films. Reliable sources in the industry reveal that there is a belief among film makers that these titles of the popular stars are sure to bring in success and hence the trend. This only goes on to reiterate the power of these icons.

Polladhavans apology

Dhanush’s latest hit Polladhavan, directed by Vettrimaran, has raised a few murmurs among the differently-abled people for one of the dialogues in the movie seemed to have hurt their sentiments. The organization of the differently-abled people in Tamil Nadu has raised objections for the same and asked for public apology from the director on this issue.

Reacting to this issue, Vettrimaran has released a statement apologizing for the mistake what he termed as unintentional. “We only wanted to express the disposition of a middle class youngster in the dialogues and had no intention to offend any section of the society whatsoever. I never did imagine that this would create such grief for the differently-abled people”, the director expressed in his statement. He further rendered an unconditional apology and vowed to avoid any such references in his future ventures.
