Namitha launches a complaint

Azhagana Ponnu was a project which was accepted by Namitha for 17 lakhs in 2006. Subsequent to this, shooting began and went on for 5 days after which the director of the film was changed to Thirunavukkarasu from Kamaraj. When Namitha was reluctant to work with Thiru, the producer gave an option of working under him for a few bdays and if she was not satisfied, she can quit the project. Honoring her commitment, Namitha was present for the 2nd schedule of the film at Kodaikanal whereas the director was reported to have come to the sets very late. This was followed by heated discussion between the heroine and director which led to the shooting coming to a halt. After this, Namitha got busier with bigger projects like Billa and Azhagiya Tamil Magan..
Now Namitha has filed a complaint against director Thiru at the South Indian Artist’s Association that she is being harassed by him. Meanwhile there was also a complaint that was lodged by the producer and director of Azhagana Ponnu at the Producer’s Council that Namitha after accepting 17 lakhs is now refusing to give call sheets for their film and further on threatening them with goondas. Now this case will be coming for hearing tomorrow at the producer’s council where both the actress and the director will be present for enquiry.

Aegan, the current project of Ajithkumar being directed by dance master Raju Sundaram is getting canned at a steady pace. After completing shooting at overseas locations, the unit is currently stationed at Vizag and is quickly wrapping up the schedule there. Director has chosen Vizag so as to avoid the crowd that generally throngs around the lead stars here. However he has been proved wrong and the shooting spot at Vizag is being continuously visited by fans of both Ajith and Nayanthara who are very popular.

Fans are very eager to take pictures with their favorite stars and talk to them and spend time with them. As a result shooting gets interrupted. Having found it an uphill task to protect the lead stars from the fans, director has opted for a private security that will be in charge of the star’s protection and ensure that the shooting proceeds smoothly.

Review of nepali

Appears to be a thriller where actor Bharath dons three roles. The female lead is played by the talented actress Meera Jasmine. Five regular songs and three small instrumental compositions. The songs have a heavy western feel to them.

Priya:
Lyrics: Yugabharathy, Vocals: Karthik, Bombay Jayashree, V.Z.Dhurai, Saveetha, Suchitra

The piece opens with a small dialogue between the lead pair.

Nepali
A light, teasing one that sets the tempo for some languorous music to follow later. The lyrics are sensuous. The male voice is high-pitched and is soothingly offset by the seductive, low voice of Jayashree hinting at dark passions. Lovely sax interludes and delicate assortment of sounds are very suggestive. One can almost imagine the leisurely progress of passion.



Wanna Become A Lady Bomb:
Lyrics: Karthik Netha, Vocals: Sunitha Sarathy, Megha and chorus

The singer's voice is very vibrant and aligns perfectly with the stringed instruments and the words also flow along well with the beats. Lovely use of rhythms. Sexy intonation.

Lyrics: Vijaya Sagar, Vocals: Tanvi, V.Z.Dhurai, Siva and chorus

Quite a fast-paced number. Plenty of English words thrown in. The song seems to be a celebration of passion and the guitar. These sounds add to the general mood. A shorter song.


Kanavile Kanavile:
Lyrics: Yugabharathy, Vocals: Sathyan, Gireesh, Swetha

A high-pitched start. Alternated with low-pitched passages. Lovely lyrics, visualizing love. Many tactile images are blended in.



Suthudhe, Suthudhe:
Lyrics: Karthik Netha, Vocals: Yugendran, Vijay and chorus

Funnily, recalls some old songs tuned by Ilayaraja and M.S.V. The song has a discotheque, strobe light feel to it. Funky but somewhat banal lyrics! Heavy relentless rhythms. A slightly longer duration lessens its charm. One that gets the feeling that it is a song played out closer to the climax. Good visuals can enhance its chances at the audio charts


The last three tracks are, interestingly, instrumental (with a few voices in the background).

The Words of Nepali:

Is it a flashback? Is the character of Nepali being introduced? The male voice comes across as dark and brooding and the female voice is plaintive. The words are unintelligible. The movie alone can explain it. Eerie and different.



Love in A (minor):

Delicate opening strains dovetail neatly into a waltz rhythm. Lovely, pensive music and nice use of flute and trumpet. Stays long in the mind after it ends. Heavily inspired by Quentin Tarantino kind of music.

Sound of action:

The sound of a siren runs as a connecting thread through some small movements. Interesting - and it recalls a seventies’ chase sequence.


Verdict: The album, clearly targeted at young people is a worthy attempt. The music also seems to be composed to be in sync with the narrative. So a good showing at the box office would in turn propel the audio to a greater level.

Vijay joins nayantara

News about Vijay signing on the dotted lines for AVM Productions is creating a buzz in the Kollywood circles. With the focus now shifting on who would direct this film, believable sources now have it that the honors could go to director Hari.

With this major issue expected to be resolved anytime now, the female lead in this flick is also a hot topic under discussion. Meanwhile, there are talks that Hari is considering Nayanthara to star opposite Vijay.Given the fact that Hari brought Nayan to Kollywood, chances of her nodding consent to this venture are brighter.

Vijay signs with Hari

Although busy with the backbreaking schedules of Kuruvi, Vijay has recently signed on the dotted line for AVM Balasubramanian’s next production venture making no bones about his next flick, after Kuruvi and another Prabhu Deva directorial venture, that is. This new assignment is likely to hit the floors only by the end of this year.

Inside sources reveal that Vijay is bowled over after watching the Hari directed Vel for its right mix of commercial elements. Last heard, the actor has also insisted AVM to get Hari’s dates for his venture with them. The production house is on the verge of persuading Hari to sign and an official announcement in this regard is expected anytime now.

Trisha has been flooded with a string of films with various leading actors of the industry and the lady is gleeful. She is shooting for Bujjikadu with Ravi Theja and Vijayawada with Prabhas.
