Indian cinema has seen many directors over the years whose works have remained etched in time. Directors, who have revolutionized filmmaking in different eras, have continued to do so with the changing times as well. Mani Ratnam is one director who donned the mantle of renaissance. After the revolution brought about by directors like Bharathi Raja, Balachander, Balu Mahendra and Mahendran in the 70’s entered this maverick director. His contribution to cinema hasn’t stopped with his works alone but has extended to the introduction of new artistes and technicians and also the enlightenment of existing ones.No dought he is a mile stone in indian cinema.
